Australian lungfish appreciation thread

G'day

I got myself a couple AUL's some weeks back now, at about 3" they are now pushing 5" and growing at ~1" a month possibly even a little more. These have quickly become one of my favourite fish, alot of character in these little guys.

I have mainly been feeding them on chopped whitebait, pieces of frozen cichlid dinners and prawn. They are in a standard 4' grow out with a few bits of wood and some plants. I have found that the addition of the plants have made them alot more active.

Great pics. I've never seen them that small. I got my AULs at 7-8". Here's are a couple of recent pics at 22+".

Oddball - What are you feeding that guy? how old is it? tankmates?

He's fed cut raw shrimp, earthworms, earthworm sticks, crayfish, sliced squid, catfish fillets, catfish pellets, clams, mussels, and snails. His food is dosed with VitaChem a couple of times a week. He also is fed 2 days on and one day off to give his system some purge time. He's coming on 2 years old now. His only tankmate is a feeder shiner that's been with him since the beginning. I left it in there to guage any behavioral change in the AUL and to act as a dither to make the AUL more active at feeding time.
