Will an aussie fish be ok for life in a 600 gallon aquarium the is 7 ft by 4 ft by30in.

A 600 will house an AUL comfortably for a decade. But, seeing that they grow to 5 1/2 feet, a 48" dimension will be too restrictive for a full adult to turn easily in. Especially since they lose alot of flexability as they age (don't we all?)

and don't forget it's a protected animal and can not be exported.
i live near these guys and they are getting rare.

We have several importers that have brought in CITES certified/chipped juveniles from Ceratodus.com. That's where I got my pair from.

as oddball said, that size aquarium will house an AUL for quite some time. i would imagine it will be good for the fish for a loooooong time (perhaps not life, but close). the captive specimens at Shedd Aquarium are not even 5.5 feet long, and all of them have been there since the 90s, one since the 1930s-40s.

statistically (and generally biologically) your fish is not going to reach it's wild max in captivity--
