G'day, I often go for bushwalks because I love being in the great outdoors. One of the good things about this is, I have the opportunity to see many of our lizards and snakes as I go for walks. I usually have a camera on me, even if it's just a phone, incase there is a reptile I want to take a pic of. I'm not he best at camera work, but I thought I might post any pictures of reptiles I take on my bushwalks, past and present, so some of you reptile fans can have a gander at them. Cheers. 8)

My first few pictures are of a big, Bearded Dragon I encountered just today. It was just starting to come out since it's starting to heat up around here again. As you can tell in the pic, he is quite upset towards my presence, so I thought it was best to snap of a few quick (and dodgy) pics and just let him be.

Near the same spot he was, I discovered some snake skin, so I looked for the snake, I found the snake and another one under a rock which I carefully lifted up. Unfortunatley, I only took a vid, I forgot to take pics 8(. Anyways, I carefully placed the rock back down, and that snake should be up and about for the next several months til winter comes again. I look forward to seeing him. I think they were Coastal Taipans 8D.

Some more dodgy phone pics. I promise I will eventually take better non-phone pics, lol.

I took these last year when I was doing my horticultural traineeship.

The first one is a pic of an eastern water dragon. This bloke got a bit of a reputation with me, whenever we worked in the creek, I would always see him, either sunning himself on the bank, or swimming through the water.

THis next pic is of a Bandy Bandy snake. This snake is mildly venomous, not considered harmful. A bloke brung it in to work and wanted us to identify it. When we found out what it was, I said I can take the snake back to my place and release him into the scrub near mine. He was truly a beautiful snake to handle and observe. I did have a video of me handling it, but neither me or my fiance can find this vid on either of our computers. 8( They are believed to feed exclusivley on blind snakes.

Not a native, but an introduced species, still, this is one of the more humourous pictures I've taken. It's an asian house gecko.

Nice pics - keep em coming & I'd love to see a wild taipan. yeah, I guess spring is headed your way - we get to look forward to fall & winter soon, so the critters will be starting to hide out. We should have quite a few more warm days left to enjoy in my neck of the woods.

I'd love to take a pic of a taipan, if only I took some pics instead of a stupid video. There will be plenty of chances though. 8). I've had enough of winter, bring on summer!

Great pics! You guys have some awesome reptile species there. If I lived there I'd be out chasing lizards around all day.

On a side note, I just got a pair of Aussie monitor lizards last week. :D
