I just bought one of these guys and am looking for some information about them. I've been told they are rare from my LFS, but that is all I know about them. I would love to see a pic of a grown out specimen, mine is about 2.5 inches long.
Any info is appreciated!

They are uncommon indeed. They are similar to SA eartheaters in that they like to sift sand, but they like harder and more alkaline water. I kept a few before and felt that they were a bit more aggressive than Geos, but not nearly as aggressive as most CA cichlids.

thanks peter, you answered my one question that i have been wanting to know for a while, and that was how they compared to a geo.
