Australoheros Oblongum

They're relatively peaceful chanchitos of unknown origin. I'm also growing some out now.

Males get about 6" with females smaller. Really not demanding with regard to water, food, etc. I kept mine in a divided 2'x2'x1' with no problems. Weekly water changes.

They're not from Uruguay so they don't need to cool down. I kept and bred mine at 72-78 degrees with heavy feeding and a water change inducing spawning.

Some pairs tend to eat their eggs, so have patience.

I kept mine with Laetecara and other peaceful fish...and alone.

Here's one of my old pairs!

Awesome! I was hoping you would chime in :) I've got them in my 40 breeder with some dempsey grow outs and they are all doing really well. I can't wait to get some size on them!

I believe MonteSS owns a male that is in his avatar that he keeps in a peaceful 75, gorgeous fish. I too had a feeling Matt would chime in, since he seems to keep just about every smaller CA/SA species ;)

I'm growing out a few as well. Love how these guys go from dark to light frequently. Any idea how to sex juvies?

how different are theses from cibal cichlids since u said theses are not from Uruguay and don't need a cool down period
