Hello everyone,

I just placed an order for 5 A.Zanja Honda and a bonded pair of Crenicichla Saxatilis that Ken Davis caught on his recent trip to Uruguay. I will place them all together in a new 75 I'll be setting up for them. I can't seem to find much info on them and was hoping you may be able to help.

I can't find any pics of them as adults or in their breeding dress and wanted to know if anyone had a pic. Also, I'm curious to know their full size, their temperment t, and if it's a good or bad idea to keep them with the pikes in a 75. Lastly, will they be ok unheated during the winter?

any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.

Don't know austros but kept my punctuate blue 33 unheated in mjchigan... Water was easily under 60 and they were eating and begging and fighting and chasing other fish causing a ruckus lol. Are you robin choi? I'm getting the baby vittata pikes next week all of em. Someone bought the ltc celidos out from under my nose.

The saxatilis will be dope. When you get fry it'll be awesome. Got a bud that kept just about every lugubrious and even spawned a few of em. Now a days he's switched over to saxatilis and breeds them.

I wanted the vittata but don't have the tank size for them since I'm picking up a new 75 and like the fact that I don't need a heater. I was torn on getting the missioneira but didn't like their look as much as the saxatilis.i initially I shied away from the saxatilis sive they are so common but Ken said they were ream nice.

Yes I'm robin. Nice to meet tou.

I just cancelled the australoheros zanja honda's. I didn't realize they were a scitulus tYpe. Was looking more for a facetum type.

Anyone know where I can get medium sized red ceibals?

Nice man glad to meet u I saw someone inquiring about the missioneira then switch over to saxatilis. To be completely honest I'd also pick up a missioneira to try out. They're lightning fast. And cool unique shape. Don't see missioneira sp. often only saxatilis and lugubrious sp. on the market. I might ask ken for a lone female. Here's a pic of mine squaring up with a heckelli geo. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1426917221.239248.jpgShe got killed by my monster 9 inch punctata male when she got over the divider. Miss her. The vittata are one of the most peaceful pikes out there, gonna be show pieces in my 300 along with other oddballs. They're also supposed to be easier to breed than other large pikes.

I agree. I like the vittata a lot but I have no tank for them. Alligator pikes. Share pics when you get them.

Yeah I'll post pics forsure. I'll send u a friend request. They'll be coming in at 2-5-3 inches. Vinny kutty got his at 3 inches from Uruguay and spawned them at 7-8 inches and sold the fry to Wes here and Wes shipped them to Korea. Was supposed to visit Korea last year with my grandmother actually but the ship sank and we decided not to go but my grandma went back for her brothers funeral to claim land and stuff. Wonder what the pike market there is.

There's a guy local to me that's been breeding red ciebels. If you'd like I could give him a holler and see if he has any med size I know he has fry and will ship. What size in inches are you looking for?

you're korean too? Nice.

I'm looking for Red Ceibals in the 4 inch range or so to put with the saxatilis.

Australoheros are very chameleon-like and can change in a moments notice from dull to vibrant depending on mood, sexual maturity or season.
All thee pics below are ceibals from the same line

Where I live, they are so common, I couldn't give them away fast enough, finally gave my last ones away last month.
