Ive found this amazing picture of a fish called Chanchito in a book of mine.
Its scientific name is Austroloheros facetus. But when ever I sarch the web for it the pictures they have are not nearly as amazing.... The one in the book look's like an oscar but with vertical dark stripes on a Green body. Hard to describe. Any one have any good pictures of this cichlid?

The Austroloheros look like that when they bred, the rest of the time they are brown. Look at Felipes site for more info. Some Austros I caught in uruguay, Red Ceible, Rubio Chico and Rio Curium. Ken

Thank you. I got a pair from Jeff Rapps at Tangled up in Cichlids. They cost me $50. This was the first time I had seen them for sale, but I think you should find some if you keep your eyes open.

Austroloheros are really sweet. I made a thread like this about a year ago when I discovered facetus and chanchito also. 2 weeks ago I found some austroloheros red ceibal locally for $15 a piece @ 1". Prices were ridiculous but I knew I'd never see them again so I bought them. Even @ 1" these things show amazing colors.

here is my thread with pics http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209535

I just wish I could find more austroloheros!

Check out the site Ken posted too, I found a lot of sweet pictures of fish on there when I first saw it.

Wow, guys thanks. Latter when I have time I will defiantly waste a bunch of time on there!
