Auto Drip Filter Replacement

Wondering how often folks replace their cartridges for their auto drip systems. I am running to BRS carbon blocks to remove chlorine and chloramine. I have had it running for nearly 6 months and have not changed any of the filters including sediment. Planning on testing my water tonight for chloramine and ordering some replacements. These filters have lasted much longer than expected but it may be because I am only running about 50gpd.

At that rate the chlorine (depending on the type of filter) is good for 13.33 ish months. They are rated at 20k. I change at 20k. Have an alarm set once 20k is reached and swap out.

I also have to worry about chloramines which is my bigger worry as it seems like these cartridges last significantly less than for chlorine.

According to BRS their cartridges last for the following:
  • Chlorine 35,000 @ 1 GPM**
  • Chloramines 3,500 @ 0.5 GPM***
  • High chemical adsorption
  • 30% more carbon than standard blocks****

    *Nominal Micron rating for all above - 1 micron
    **2ppm free chlorine >90% reduction
    ***3ppm monochloramine >85% reduction
    ****Manufacturer's internal test data
When you look at that, my drip is running much slower than those numbers so the cartridges should last longer. I also look at my water report. We have water supplied from two different places. One use chlorine and the other chlorarmine but there is no way to know how much you are getting from where. I will say that it look like the chlorarmine content was measured below 1.5ppm which I believe is relatively low compared to some folks.
 
I run about 40gpd, change my carbons every 6 months and do my sediment filter every 3. Chlorine only.

I don't remember ones of the top of my head. BRS has a chloramine buster and Charney Charney has a nice chloramine filter but both are a lot more expensive than what I am doing and many others do.
