I was looking into getting an automatic fish feeder because I want to actually see my fish when my lights are on.-- question though. I have 2 clowns and a scooter blenny and I know it's best to feed them twice a day. This is the light I got for my tank because of some corals I want to get. http://www.marinedepot.comhttp://www...ILTFIT53U.html How long should I keep this light on? If only around 8 hours is it ok to feed my fish within those 8 hours twice? Or should I feed them when the lights are off or what?
I want to feed my fish flake in the morning when I'm not there with the feeder and then I will feed them fozen shrimp food in the evening.

Also does anyone know of any auto fish feeders that work well. And do they come with a way to change the amount of food it puts in every time and how many times a day it feeds the fish?

Any help is greatly appriciated.

PS. I have to leave for school at 7:30am and don't get back till at least 4 or possibly later sometimes so I want to be able to see my fish with the lights on so I want to change my pattern. I don't know What time I should turn the lights on and off though and what times to feed them.

Thanks!!

Hello, Just a quick line to tell you that i can understand and have also been told that auto fish feeders are a total waist of time. Food gets clogged up, frozen foods melt and your fish can die because of bad hygein.
Your there every day just feed them when you can.
regards

I will feed them frozen by myself when i'm there at night I just want something to feed them when the lights go on! at like 12 or so i'm thinking as in flake food only

Ok i understand what your trying to do
This maybe bad advise but treat them mean and keep them keen!
( what im trying to say is that to keep the fish and to keep you intrested in the hobby it would be nice to see them when you feed them, so feed them when you can and watch them, if they want to eat they will )
Lighting should be about 11 to 12 hours i think for coral
but i think auto feeders suck
Im not no expert on marine
If you have nocturnal fish feed them just before the lights go out so there is still some food for them.
