i have everything set up for a auto w/c but how would i keep the temp. the same if i have cold water flowing into the tank at all times? how do you do it "1000w heaters haha"

Good heaters should be able to keep up with any reasonably paced drip setup.

If it's more of a regularly timed X% change at once, though, you're better off filling a holding tank and heating it there then pumping it in, unless you have fish that can tolerate huge temperature swings like goldfish...

thats what im doing now but not having to take the time to drain the tank and pump the water back in would be nice and doesn't stress the fish as much

so i would just need to get a water regulator to i guess have the water flow at the highest amount with out a temp drop i have a 300w ehiem heater should i get another one? cause how much water would it be changing a week would be nice for a big number haha

Depends on the size of the tank. But it definitely doesn't hurt to overdo it. If it's too much, the heaters will be off, so it's not exactly a waste of power.

I plan to run 1-2 gallons an hour into my 120 and 2-3 into my 220. Doing the math and that's close to 50% a day, minus whatever percentage of clean water ends up being taken away by the overflow.
