I cant seem to find much information on these guys. I ended up getting 5 1.5 inch Godmanni last month and I have one who is now nearly 3 - 3.5 inches long now while the rest around 2-3 inches and I am just wondering what is the normal growth rate. Also how big is average? As I said I have looked up info on these but have found very little. Maybe I am going about it wrong or something but I just cant seem to find much information on them like I can all my other fish.

My biggest one seems to be a little porker (Possible name?) and will gorge if I dont be careful. I dont plan on keeping all 5 and will most likely pick one maybe two to keep when they get bigger and sell the rest locally. I plan on building a 7x4x2 or a 8x4x2ft aquarium this summer so I will have a tank plenty big enough for every one, I am just trying to get an idea how much they may grow in 3-4 months and about how big they will get.

As you can see from the lack of info you found on the net, not many ppl have kept the fish compared to other cichlids in the hobby. I have about 10 or so at the moment that range from 2" to 4". I purchased mine at 1" back in Aug-Sept. So i'd say you've had a nice growth rate in yours. I only feed mine once a day with 2 day breaks here and there. Out of the 10 half have deformed dorsals(missing the front part of the dorsal). They should have been culled by the vendor and then again by me but i decided to keep them around and use as dithers in various tanks.

I figured of all places this would be the one where some one would know if any one. I chanced upon them by accident when I picked up my Carpintis. I thought there was going to be a group of Carpintis, turned out to only be one and Jason wasn't expecting the Gadmanni and didn't really have room so I went ahead and bought them off of him. Then when I got home have had a hard time since finding out much about them.

I just thought some one on here would have kept these before but I guess they are pretty uncommon. I have been feeding mine once a day and then every other day or two treat them with blood worms. As staple I have been feeding Kens Premium slow sinking growth pellets. At the rate they are growing the big one may catch up with the Carpintis that is in there with them here pretty soon.
