Just got the lil guy a week or 2 ago. Just wondering what their average growth rate is and how big they get

What size is the tank? How often do you do water changes? And what kind of food do you feed it? Average size for a male is 12-14inches, maybe 16 if you tank really good care of it :]

16in Green Terror? HOLY JESUS! That would be a beastly GT.

Id say with good care 12-13in. max. Growth rate Id say at least 1in every 2 months if not a hair more. He will slow down at around 6in and slowly get bigger and fatter from there.

Yeah, I know 16in is big but I've heard of it, only with immaculate care and good breeding... But I guess that size might include the trailers on the fins...

Average size 12-14 inch? They stay smaller then that. Maximum size would be 12, maybe 13 inch.

My Green Terrors are in a 190 gallon, and I change a lot of water and also feed a lot, but still they grow slow.
Bought them at 3 inch a year ago. One of them is 6 inch the other is 7. The third one never grew, but the third one is possibly a female that already laid eggs before.

Lol i would say average 10" (not including tail)

I got my GT about the beginning of the year at 1.5 inches and now hes about 7-8 inches long and about 1.5 inches thick. He was the dominant fish in the tank though. Im sure that plays a big part in it. In my avatar hes about 3-4 inches and has since doubled that. Weekly 50% water changes and Hikari bio gold as a staple has made him shine.

I got mine in feb of this year at 1.5". now would say he must be 7-8 and getting thick, so about a inch a month little slower so far. i feed him hikari bio gold and massivore for the most part plus peas, shrimp, krill and other bits of fish.

They will get 6-8". Anything over 10" is possible, but less common. They can grow steadily for their first year or two (1/2-1" per month), and then slow down (1-2" per year).

A foot long green terror male is massive and likely quite old. A soldid 10"-er is more realistic. Smaller for females.

They'll grown pretty rapidly to about 6"...then slow down and get thicker.

No real secrets: clean, warm water, quality food (including live food like bugs and red wiggler/earthworms), multiple small feedings per day.

While fish will continue to grow throughout their life, some individuals are genetically pre-disposed to be larger or smaller (or more or less colorful) than others.
