no where
doing daily to every other day water change, daily feeding to every other day feeding, no bigger then a quarter for them. growing out in a 20 long ( 55G is the next stage ) so whats the growth rate for these guys? got two of each.

im not sure what the expected growth rate is but i have a chocolate in a 55g grow out and he is growing pretty slow...i feed daily and do plenty of water changes as well but i havent noticed much growth since i got him. His color has improved but growth is slow.

He is 4.5-5 inch(guessing) i will try and get some pics when i get home.
Currently its kept with a few other small cichlids(2.5-4 inch range)
He is pretty active but can be shy at times
Not agro at all
Eats well
...just a slow grower so far

I have a gold and a green Severum that I've had well over a year and they are 4.5-5" tops. They get a variety of food and frequent water changes. I suspect stunted before I got them but who knows!

I have 4 turquoise severum that I got at about quarter size. They are 3-4" each now in a 55 of their own with a 4 rainbows for dithers. It took them about 4 months to reach that size. If I understand growth of the average severum correctly, they grow at a rate of about an inch a month for the first 5-6 months, then only about 0.5" per month. Many people don't report full grown 10-12" severums until they are 16+ months old.

As for the chocolate, I am not entirely certain. I have read they are slow growers too. Should be fine in that 20 for a month or two, then fine in the 55 for the next 8-12 months depending on growth. I would recommend a 75 or larger for a permanent residence if these two are going to live together forever. That 75 would also allow for a small school (4-6) of dithers in the 3-5" size range and a pleco or catfish.

That sounds stunted to me. Mine reached those sizes in 5-6 months. Mine also are fed mornings and evenings with twice weekly water changes.

in the long run, i am thinking of 1 severum, 1 chocolate, 1 firemouth ( got a firemouth with my africans right now, about the same size as the chocolate/severums, and he gets along great with the africans ) so would a 75 be big enough for one severum, one chocolate, one firemouth?
