Awesome petco find!!!

So ive had these guys in quarantine for a while now, and just added them to the 220. 3 sp. Venezuela "i think". They randomly got them in with some other fish, and i was in the right place at the right time. My question is when do females develop the white or black line across the top of the dorsal? With this species?

Yeah petco isnt that weird. They got them in on accident is what they said. So this species doesnt get the stripe across the dorsal that most crenicichla get?

No. It not like atabapo. The females get a pink belly.

These were the easiest pikes to pellet train, im hella stoked on these guys. They will eat anything. Ive always had bad luck with stubborn pikes training for pellets.

Nice catch! Get some tank mates for them. They mix well with other deep bodied SA cichlids.

I was at Petco, one time, and amongst the feeder goldfish was a lone tiny bluegill(?).
