on my whisper 60 i took out that black square bio thing that goes by your filter and left it in the kitchen sink for a few days and now its FULL of mold and crazy fungus of biblical proportions... all of which look very septic and vile.. to the point that i want to throw it out, but people say the bio square is irreplacable and NEVER throw it out...

so does this mean my entire filter system is useless and i gotta buy a whole new one just because of this one little part?!

1 gal. of HOT tap water with a capfull of bleach in it will kill anything that has grown on it in the kitchen sink...rinse well with plenty of clear HOT tap water.

Mix a batch of water, with extra deChlorinator in it...
swish it in dechlorinated water, Give it the "nose" test,
and you'll be fine...;)

idno if it stinks but it looks pretty tasty... ill post a pic

EDIT: nvm its under all the new dishes... damn kids.

just wash it... or pick up a new hunk of sponge...

lol in hawaii it isnt abnormal to have a pile of dishes, pots and pans in the sink after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. the bio square has been sitting there but all the dishes on top will be moved to the dish washer once the day is over, dont worry :D. cant afford to run a dish washer after each meal now can ya???
