My female hystrix ray recently gave birth to 6 pups, 1 having a typical brown coloration, and the other 5 having a silver coloration. Are they axanthic? Below I posted some pictures of the 2 color types for comparison.

Not sure about them being axanthic but the pale colour variant used to be really common back in the late 90’s. When histrix used to be labelled as tea cup rays and imported en masse. They sold for about 30 quid a piece in the UK back then before the Brazilian export bans.
