I am really hyped up of the idea of getting an axolotl. And I will have a 55 gallon aquarium for it/them. My LPSs do not carry axolotls. :'( So where might I acquire some of these. How many may I put in a 55 if any.

Also according to some online sources I can keep 11 in a 55 gallon? So... umm... I thought I'd ask

They like clean, cool water with good oxygenation. Eat pretty much anything. Don't use gravel as they will swallow it when gulping food.

Assuming they're not fighting, I'd say half a dozen would be fine.

Mwa hahaha.... Now where do I get them?

I would not keep 11 in a 55 gal. Maybe 5 and that is a big maybe. They can get to over a foot long.

The need low flow of water. Alot of current stresses them out. Cold water. Anything over 70 and they are going to stress.

My group is currently being kept around 55-57. Earth worms are a good food for them as well as salmon pellets.

coolest/creepiest things ever i hate and love them at the same time good luck with them!
