I have 3 cichlas:

1 x 4.5” Ocell
1 x 3” Kelberi (starting to think it’s another Ocell)
1 x 2.5” Azul

I was first concerned the larger Ocell would be aggressive and try to eat the smaller Azul given I heard they can be aggressive with each other at young ages. But to my surprise the Ocells personality instantly became more relaxed and they started schooling immediately. 3 days in though and the smallest one the Azul has become very aggressive with the Kelberi, chasing him around the tank pretty frequently but leaving the Ocell alone. Is this typical of Azuls and do you think it will subside or worsen with growth? I find it odd because i Quarantined both of them together for a month with no issues.

Also do young Kelberis take time to develop colors or did I get another species? It was listed as a “gold” from Steve. He is the midsized one.

There will always be a pecking order. The fish will be constantly challenging each other until they fall inline. After that they ease up, sometimes they don’t let up. They should figure it out.

Simple, add more bass. It will not work with just three bass. Four or more is key.....OR, you can add dither fish (I would go with a group of four or more geo's).
