Well they arent the greatest pics. These two are constantly on the move so its hard to get pics. I got a pair from jeff rapps last summer they are wc from furnas lake and doing great. Im guess the biggest one is the male and i think he is around 17". I will be moving them to my 336 when im finished building it so i can view them from the side. Sorry for the bad pics but i love these guys and it was feeding time. They lost out on the bull frog i tossed in this morning. One of my oscars claimed it after a long battle between the bass, the pacu, the oscars and the rtc/tsn hybrid.

Filtration is very simple, just a 1250gph pond pump(probably the best pump ive ever used) which pushes through 3 canisters(each rated for 900 gallons), small uv(basically cant even say its uv) its useless other than to control algae blooms. Thing is i do 100, 200 and sometimes 300 gallon per day water changes so the water stays pretty good and clear. I have a vacuum i use to clean all the excess food up with and dirt. I keep lily pads in the pond when they are in season and the plecos like to dig in them and throw dirt all over. Try to keep it as natural as i could.

Im building them a new 1k gallon "pond" that will have a "real" filtration setup on it because the pool has to go so i can setup floor jacks to support the 336 gallon tank im building upstairs for my leopoldi and my bass. But as primivtive as my setup is it has done the job nicely for a year now. Just got to be diligent in maintenance.

Top view is pretty cool. Every now and then they show some real nice blues. Just recently i started putting in warmer water with the water changes and their colors really pop and the male(i assume the male is the bigger of the two) he displays some real nice color and chases other fish away and so does she. Only when im doing the water changes though. Its funny to watch. And its the only time he will stand up to the dovii any other time he lets the dovii chase him a bit.

that's a huge ray in pic #2!!!!what kind is he??

He is a potamotrygon sp 'orange flower peru' a rare one according to the man himself mr jeff rapps, he used to have him in his personal tank but needed to sell so i snagged him up. He is beautiful but still wont let me pet him when i feed.

The azuls look great in the pond!
Nice oscars as well.

Thanks those are the rare Bahia Red Tails. An F1 pair imported from germany. Im guessing them to be a solid 14".
