Well now that i have started the addiction of pbass, I want to get to no all the kinds of them.

First off I want to get to no the kind i have, and that is Orinos. Give me all the info nessesary, mainly what is their maximum size? And what are some good diet tips?

And second off, I have seen what i think are called Azul pbass? I saw a guy selling his for a heap of money, and i was wondering if those are really rare? And what kind of prices can i expect for fish that about 6-7"? ANd what is their max size?

Any help on these two would be much appreciated:headbang2

orinos max usually max at 24" and I think azuls do too..
Azuls are expensive because you seldom see them in LFS and usually aquire them now at large sizes. I haven't seen juvie azuls for sale for ages!!
Like all cichla you should keep the temp at 87 degrees with high oxygen and feed them feeders till there large enough to wean onto pellets, usually around the 8" mark.
Do a search for azuls and orinos on this forum and you should learn alot.
Also check out the I.d thread above. If you want to know anything else in specific just ask :)

alright thanks hopefully when im a little older and can have a huge tank of my own, and have a ton of money to spend i will get an azul

azuls get larger then 24 inches.. you will never see them in a LFS.. you aquire them now at a large size because the stock that was brought in a few years back are the only ones in the states.

the rest silver dragon covered... do a search.. there are tons of info an theads on each

alright i only found little info on azuls. That one guy, R1 ridah or something has like 3. Do you think he will be able to breed them, or is that a impossible task?

yeh R1 has a pretty sick collection of cichla. i dont think its impossible, i mean people have breed monos in home aquaria before, i dont see how they cant breed azuls unless they have different requirments i havent heard about.. somebody just needs to do it lol..

someone breeed azuls lets make them muhahah

hey sorry for the double post, but i had a question. Silver Dragon, on another thread you said this:

87 degrees is essential for your young cichla to avoid diseases like ich, I won't be the only person to tell you this LOL. I have a silver aro with my bass aswell and they all do fine at this temp.
You can feed rosy reds, guppies, minnows or African cichlids.

About feeding them. I was just seeing that if i were to breed convicts, that i could feed them to my growing pbass, could I?

Yes, you can do that. Though con fry seem to grow slow, but then again I never really bothered trying to separate and raise my con fry in a different tank from their birth tanks.
