Can anyone tell me a good way too separate a brachyplatystoma valliantii and a valliantii fals. Serched the internet but can't find any literature. But I know there are a different. Bought a valliantii fals for a couple of days back. But I can't see the different between this one and the very much more expensive real valliantii.

I've never heard of false Brachyplatystoma vaillantii but there are at least a few fish out there labelled and sold as vaillantii that are not vaillantii and not even a Brachyplatystoma but from Pimelodus, Propimelodus, and other genus.

This is known as a valliantii fals. The reason for that is that is a relativ new spices that doesn't got it own name yet. Found it out in some literature when I searched i bit deeper.
