Is it safe to assume that baby silver arowana with the yolk still attached are wild caught? In other words, do asian countries that CB silver aro sell them with the yolk still attached?
Not trying to start a war about wc fish, just trying to see if someone was looking for silvers with no drop-eye, could they reliably get babies with yolk sacks?

Nope not really true as they could have just come from the breeders ponds.

agreed... also wild aros still get drop eye. someone has a pic of a wild aro with drop eye as their avatar

Yes they do, The "CB" in the original posters statement means "captive bread". Most arowana fry that are for sale here in the states are captive bread from asia.

maybe he meant where they really come from... in the wild that is. man everything is being bred overseas just like how everything else is being made overseas. scary thought.

The yolk pretty much means it was just born a few days ago

Thanks for the replies everyone.
To clarify: I understand the silver arowana is indigenous to South America :). I also understand many (if not most by now) that come into the US are captive-bred (CB) in Asian countries. Just wondering if the Asian breeders ship them out so young (with yolks attached) since it only takes a matter of a few days to absorb.
