Babies!!!

during the hell week ive had my black convicts, marlin and little lady, gave me a big but VERY welcome surprise! babies! my grandmother was put in the hospital the other day so things have been very stressed these last few days, hence the reason why i say hell week! when i came home at about 1:30-2 am from the hospital i turned on the light to the tank so i could feed them and see how they were doing. i couldnt find lady at frist and i thought the worse had happened! (just what i needed!) i lifted up the log in their tank and found her with a nice size egg batch. here are some pics! they arent tht good but i dont wanna stress them out to much so ill get some better pics later!

pic 1: babies explorin! theyre right next to the loog they were kept under when they were first born!
pic 2: more explorin! i had just fed mom and dad (a mix of flake, freeze dried and pellate)so thts what they're checking out right now!
pic 3 + 4: these are of lil lady showing how good a mom she is!

they are moving around a lot more now! its funny to watch marlin and lady travel from nest to nest and seeing this long line of babies following them! right now marlin is facing off against the pleco in the tank who is wisely keeping his distance! marlin and lady have both already gotten him and i think he still remembers when marlin viciously attacked him for getting to close with his first three batches, that was with marlins first grilfriend! (i still blame the pleco for the third batch of eggs mysteriously disappearing over night!) well, i guess we'll just sit back and see how this batch will fare with a now beefed up dad and a mom who wont take any crap!

There sooo tiny, wish I could keep a pair in my tank, but they would probably kill all my angels. And plants. Good luck with the fish.

thanks! yea these two def would terrorize your angels! i just have a pleco in with them whos bigger and they pretty much attack him when he gets to close to the babies. he nos better though then to get to close now! and they love to tear up live plants, the only ones they really cant kill are moss plants! and yes they are very very tiny! lol they wont be that size much longer! luckily i have new homes already arranged for them! got more pics too!

pic 2 is of her just watching over them
pic 3 and 4 are of marlin being a good dad and watching out for them! in 3 he is watching the pleco to make sure he stays put.

thanks! i took about half out and put them in a 10 gallon grow out tank. already starting to see some personality in some of them! cant wait to see what they look like!
