geophagus would go really well, aggressive cichlids would be bad, tiny community fish (danios, tetras) would be worst

ohb a red oscar and some convicts?

No! You will have a dead aro. I wouldn't personally mix any silver or black aro less than 8-10" with any semi-agressive to agressive cichlids. They are very fragile at that size.

ya thats what i thought...
it looks like im just going to have to get a bigger arro.
i just wanted to get a smaller one because the price.
and i wouldnt be getting 50 bucks to spend anytime soon
i have problems with saving my money ha
or i might just rid of the cichlids
would a 4 inch clown knife, a 3 inch birchir and a channel cat get along with a 4 to 6 inch silver aro?

Your best bet is to keep the silver alone for a few months, once it is stable and growing well then you can look to adding tankmates. What size tank are you putting your new aro into?

Silver arows grow really fast, so it's kind of pointless to get one that's just a little bigger so you can add tankmates faster. your 4 incher will be a foot long in no time. Mine was 5" lng on september 7th and is now over 10". In 2 months he grew over 5 inches.
Grow him out by himself and then add tankmates when he's a bit larger.

im putting him in a 55g if i get a 4 incher
and a 200g if i get a 10 incher
tetras would go good with them because theyre almost imposible to catch right?

I would say that 99% of all tetras kept with arowanas, end up in the belly of that arowana. I have lost 5 of 14 cardinal and neon tetras that have been with this aro over the last 3-4 weeks
