im expecting to get a few baby aros this weekend
i was wondering whats a good amount to get? i was thinking of pickin up 3 but is that a good amount

and

at what size can aros be sexed? I was planning on placing them in a pond and try to get them to breed possibly a 15 feet diameter round pool

lmk know all the suggestions and comments would be great

as for breeding, i have heard of silver arowanas being bred in tanks before, in fadct i have seen it in singapore.... but big tanks and lucky breeder:D

now, you ask if you can have multiple, well, in my experience, a PREREQUISITE on mulitple aros are below

1) BIG TANK
2) More than 4 or 5

i have tried 2 to 3 silver aros in the past only to hvae to return all but one to the pet store. doesnt work. you might get lucky, but you will be luckier if you et more than 4 to 5.

how big is your tank?

as for breeding, if you are getting asian arowanas, that is harder.

it takes apparently, seasons, flooding, certain types of chemicals in th water to trigger breeding in arowanas according to a breeder i spoke to in singapore... maybe he just saying that but not sure.

one example, is ketapang. its a leaffound in the tropics in asia that browns the water and makes it acidic, has ther chemicals in it too
certain seasons, berries and leaves fall mor ethan other seasons, goes in the water and triggers breeding.
this plant has medicinal properties.
maybe thats a reason of the trigger of breeding, to ensure there is less risk of infection for babies perhaps? not sure

i dont know how to sex arowanas, i am unsure if anyone really does. i tink you just hvae to have multipe arowanas and watch them pair up
