Hello everyone,

My baby Arawana seems to have a little bit of issue holding the rear of his tail up. I've had him since he was a fry with an egg sac. I think I probably owned him 4 to 6 weeks. This is relatively new in the last few days.

The end of his tail drops down. He seems to struggle to keep himself righted.

He is in the tank by himself (well, with one baby fancy guppy (cb) as a potential snack) . Water parameters are all good. 0,0 , 25. Api test kit. 80 degrees. He is eating frozen blood worms and freeze dried shrimp.

I had a minor ick break out to 14 days ago. I caught it early. I treated with raising the temperature in adding salt. ick is been gone for 10+ days.

Here is a video showing his labored swimming.

Any ideas? He has been eating vigorously.

His tail seems to of dropped more since the video two days ago. The still picture was from today. He just seems like he really has to throw his body left and right to Swimmin to stay afloat. I didn't notice him injuring himself at all, but maybe the cats scared him one day when I wasn't around. And he whacked himself?

Thx

Possibly injured itself like you stated. What are your water parameters?

I apologize just reread your thread. I would suggest adding some floating plants so little Aro will feel more secure and hopefully recovers.
