new here to the board and ive been doing alot of reading on aro's. so much reading in fact that my girlfriend bought me a baby aro without me knowing.

the problem is this though, i have a 150gallon tank right now that just had 4 gourami's, 6 neon tetras, and a clown loach.

ive been reading that i need to have a tank for the aro so that he can grow a bit bigger. but with buying a new tank, filter for it, and trying to get it cycled i dont know if i can get it. (money is kinna scarce)

so i jus purchased this: http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=OE1086

and put that into my 150 gallon. would this work for the time being?

before i bought that, the aro would jus stay in the corner portion of the tank. none of the other fishes bothered it or anything.

maybe i can jus buy a food floater net thingy or make my own out of tubing so that the aro's food doesnt flow away in my filters.

i dont know, could use some help here.

thanks in advance.

when you say "baby arowana" exactly what size is it? Does it still have it's yok sac. Small aros are delicate, need pristine water conditions and still water, current is hard on little guys.

Maybe a tank divider will help....make that both sides have filter though...will help as well...a small one

with the tank mates you have it should do fine, just make an area that has still water for it.
