I understand that arowanas like oxygenated water and a remedy would be to buy an air pump (obviously). however, my arowana is still young and small (approx. 4 inches) and gets tossed around by my HOB power filter. would adding an air pump connected to an air stone make swimming harder for the fish due to the turbulence (sorry, dont know the word for underwater turbulence)????

I have a baby silver in my 200 gal. community tank for the past 3 months and he has grown very nicely. He hated the turbulence at first, but after about a week he got used to it. His color is beautiful but the only thing is his fins are a tad rough.

yea its fine nothings wrong with that

yea like my jardini the water currents were so strong he was hiding then now he swims regularly

Young Aros prefer to have still moving water with minimal current, adding an airstone would be fine but I would suggest finding a way to make the filter create less water movement, maybe fill up the tank more so the water level is higher.
