By the time its a foot long in a 55 it will probably be stunted before it can get there, highly doubtfull it will be healthy

Not sure exactly how big the aro is right now, but a 2" baby will grow to a foot in 6-9 months.

With proper water changes and feedings the size of the tank will not stunt the fish.

I was not sure but just guessing as i have never had one nor have my friends

Agree with bderick, the fish will not be stunted.
But in a 55gallon it will definately outgrow it fast.
