I recently purchased 2 baby silver arowanas both with their yoke sacks.Ive had them for about 2 weeks. Ones sack is just about absorbed. The others almost looks to be abit larger with a few blood spots and vessels showing. Both are very active and seem to be doing well. My worries are about the larger sack. Anyone have experience with ones still having the sack? Just abit more info. Tank is a 125gal. This will work until they get larger. They are the only fish in the tank. Temp is 80. Ive fed them once to see if they were interested in blood worms which they both were. I was just curious, I know not to feed them because the yoke sack is their form of nutrients right now. Any help would be grateful.

Let the egg sac absorb, then feed. Hikari makes some great floating "baby pellets" they are really tiny, but a nice easy first food. I had some trouble with one that size and struggled with breaking up regular size pellets, and pre soaking them because they were too hard, but when I found the baby pellets, he went crazy and started eating like a champ. I then introduced him to baby crickets but one was bigger and then he went downhill and died. I think it's difficult for them to digest when they are so tiny, so watch them for a while before introducing foods with skeletons or "hard body parts". They are so amazing when they are that tiny, I'd put a floating plant (I use fake plants) for them to hide in and rest in. Good luck! PICS????????????

For mine I just took the Hikari pellet , broke it in 1/2. Then I pinched it so that it would brake but still hold its shape, then just doped it in. Mine hit it like a pimp :woot: Now they are on 1 and 1/2 pellets

Ive had mine for about 2 weeks now , had a large sac and was told it didnt need to eat . Hes in the same tank with a small lima cat and i feed it bloodworms well I wemt to feed the cat and the aro stole it all has eaten it ever since and his sac is almost gone

How often should I feed these guys?

As long the egg sac is intact, feeding is not really a must. But once the egg sac is been absorbed, feed twice a day in small quantity will be good.:)
