So I bought 2 baby arowanas and they still had their yolk sacs...at what point do these little suckers start jumping? Reason I ask is because I don't have a tank cover yet.

just get a cover now. use some netting or something. Its not worth losing these lil gems

Two arowana generally will fight. Along with a cover you'd better get a divider.

Funny you say that I had to separate them because one was bullying the other. So they will never get along if I attempt to put them back together when they're a little bigger?

they will still fight. you can get a tank cover that isn't too heavy for now since they are still small

Aro communities are a hit or miss.. they do best in odd numbers.. but there are ppl who have had success with two aros.. the domination i believe is mostly due to food.. the dominant one will push the other aro down so it can get all the food.. and yes, please get a lid now :) and prob another tank..rather than a divider..

Possibly, I have two silvers that lived fine together for a couple years as a pair. They now live in a community with two black aros. I was able to raise two small blacks together for a few months until one died. But these two examples are overshadowed by numerous failures I experienced trying to pair aros in other attempts. Coincidentally, one of my silver and one of the blacks now living together were a failed attempt when they were younger. Most important thing when trying to build/establish an arowana community is to be able to have the means to house the aro separately when needed.

Mahalo for all the feedbacks! I currently house them in separate tanks and will probably attempt to reintroduce them when they get a little bigger.

Just an update....I reintroduced my 2 arros and put them in one tank and they're fine. They're both about 8" now and it's been about 3 weeks since putting them back together and no fighting. They would occasionally swim in circles and eye each other out, but thank got no fighting.
