any advice on keeping a baby bichir. i got a 2 inch delhezi in with a tank of african cichlids. not the best home for him but they dont bother him.

If you haven't observed any aggression, your main concern may be to make sure he gets enough food. As they are upper strata feeders, they will have the first chance to snatch up the food. You may want to target feed with tongs or a turkey baster.

do babies have to eat? i dont think ive seen mine eat since i got him. doesnt seem interested in food either. ive tried hand feeding him too. help please.

Baby bichirs are best kept in grow out tank to ensure they get plenty of growth and do not get eaten by bigger fish. Baby bichirs are slow eaters and it can be frustrating to make sure they get enough food before the faster and bigger fish eat it. Did you get these from Sunset Aquarium?

My first poly was a baby sen and I kept it in a light planted 10g and fed it frozen bloodworms and small pellets.
