So I picked this little guy up a month ago. He has since put on an inch and eats like a pig. He is not picky either, he will devour NLS pellets, Hikari Micro pellets, and blood worms. When he is not searching for food, he likes to sit motionless in these fake leaves I put tiny pieces of floaties on(cut from pool noodles).

I just though it was cool because I always see aro's on the move, but perhaps they like to rest also.20180723_195420.jpg 20180723_195033.jpg

Maybe just hiding safer than being out in the open. I’m sure it’ll change once bigger. Very cool behavior.

This is actually wild behavior, in the wild they hang around areas like this till they see a insect crawling on a branch above them which they promptly grab, mostly grasshoppers

Most likely since it’s small it’s uncomfortable swimming around a big tank with the light on. I wouldn’t be too concerned since he is small and aros will hang around floating plants if they have the opportunity.

That reminds me of those fake leaf "betta hammocks" you see in pet shops. You mount them with a suction cup up near the water line. They work, too. Bettas love to lounge on them.

Seems to be the same principle. :)
