I saw a 6 inch jardini today. The body is a dark grey and the tail and anal fins are both black. It looks nothing like a regular jardini. The tank setup is light gravel with a black background and normal lighting. In the light, the jardini still looks black. I'm thinking about getting it. What I want to know is whether or not it will retain its black color. Does anyone have any insight on this? Anyone have a black jardini?

Looks very similar to this:

Super nice .. Only if I had a tank to house it...

Its possibly from the background that the fish gotten darker. But as you probably know there are different variance in jardini. Some are light some are darker i suppose it just depends on batches that come from the supplier. I.E. spangles can be pinkish color to yellow. IMO that just another regular jardini and if the seller is selling as "black" jardini its just another marketing scheme to get people to buy it.

Bought it. Looks awesome. Very dark green, makes it look black. Has pearl strikes inside its eye, in the iris region. Doesn't have much pearls on the tail, anal fin, and dorsal fin. Will post pics when settles in. Head also doesn't have any pearls.

They did not label it as a black jardini.
