One of my seventh mouth old fire red Uganda females is holding . Kinda young to have eggs I think . I like her to spit them out so she can eat . She is with the same group she spawned with. She is only a inch and half long , What can I do with a fish that small?

It's a good idea if you strip her and keep her eating. She is a bit young and still has quite a bit of growing to do. Allowing her to hold to term every time she spawns would result in stunting. :)

Id strip her. I had to do this with one of my female peacocks as she was about that size when she was holding. She got really skinny and I wasnt sure if she would make it so I made her spit them out and eat. I tried to save the eggs but I dont have proper tumbler =( You cant really do anything with her unless you want to seprate her from the males, but thats really all you can do if you dont want her to hold again.

Strip her and put the eggs in a 10gallon or something. or try beffing up the female population in the tank so the males have more to :naughty: .. goodluck

As soon as you see a male with adult colrs you can be pretty sure one of the females is holding. If youre sure you can strip her withot hurting he go for it.I dont have the dexterity to strip a tiny fish.Itll just happen again though so unless youre planning on keeping the males and females separated till theyre grown I woulnt put too much worry into stripping her.

that is what exacly what happen. the big male just got nice color in the group and started to show his stuff. Good news is she crushed her eggs when i feed them lot of food at once. She got so excited, then crushed them , a big clould of egg went everwhere. Thanks for the info guys
