Like the title says i have a question about baby bushynose plecos.. Right now i have a cave that is occupied by loads of new babies and their dad. My question is when is the best time to pull the cave and move all these babies to their own grow out tank ?? They're in my 300 right now which is loaded with fish, so the chances of the babies making it in there is slim to none.:( I had planned on moving my pair of adults to their own tank before they bred but i was too late..;) So should i just move them now, or do i need to wait some more time.. They only hatched maybe 2-3 days ago.

My BN's spawn about every 6 weeks, 40-50 eggs. If I put the parents in a separate tank, it would be full of 200+ kids in no time. Do you really want to clean up poop from hundreds on Plecos?

Before proceeding, decide how may babies you want, and what you will do with them as they get bigger.

we are trying to breed them but we are having no sucsess my new guppies that we got just last week are doing their thing

it happened to me when i did WC last 2-3 weeks, i saw an egg on the bottom of the tank, did not expect it. A week after I found out a bunch of eggs inside of plastic rock. Because it's my 10G QT tank so i left them there, now i have a few babies look very cool. Back to your question, if you want you can move them and daddy to different tank with same tank water. Its easy to keep track/maintance. GL

1st batch got eaten when i left them too long, i have a 2nd batch that started to hatch last night. I'll be moving them in the next couple days to a grow out tank with the dad.
