Baby Cichlid question

Hey Guys, I really do not know if this is going to sound stupid but hear we go.

I have two little baby Breidohri's that are always together. Where one goes the other follows. They sleep together, eat together, Etc..

Here is my question, those this mean I have a pair or is this typical behavior for cichlids this small (.75 to 1 inch in size).

Small fish swim together in schools mostly for protection. Just because two fish swim together is no guarantee that they are a pair.
