my lfs has baby indos 4 sale 20 bux but they are about half insh to 1 inch in size are they hard to keep at that size?

yes. very sensitive and delicate at that size..
water chemistry must be pristine and fully cycled. any left over foods has to be taken out immediately. strong filtration is a must but you also have to consider that these are too small and can get caught in the inlet of the filter or your powerhead. cant have too much current either.
there's a lot of things to consider.

i suggest you do a lot of research and not jump in. i have a friend that already knows how to keep healthy fish but his dats only lasted a day..

^^^^^they arent that weak....ive got a whisperer 40 and a penguin 350 and a powerhead on my 55g....completely bare....just an airstone in there. So far so good. Eatn live tubifex like crazy!

just make sure tank is FULLY cycled, dont overfeed. make sure no other tank mates can eat or attack them.

at that size, may want to use hiding spaces.

i got 2 they are in a tank with my 3 inch thin bar and sence then my thin bar is more active

also when i got them they where unstable in the tank but no more then 30 seconds after release in to my tank they turned stable and feed greadily on black worms
(put in to keep the thin bar busy as the indos found hiding)
the tank is fully cycled and planted farly well the indos are nutss! they never ever hide more so they go thru the plants looking 4 food eat like pigs and always come up to say hi when i get close and look in

huge personality differnce with the thin bar hes out untill i walk up then he goes and hides and turns brown till i leave.... well i dont like him very much ither! jk annny way

the babies are stable eat well and are very active and un afreid of me = fantasic

i have pics im going to up load later on a differnt thread they arnt to good its a camara phone but i just wanted to share the news im really excited i love all my fish so much but this is a specail addition!

Are you referring to me?:D It was definitely a live and learn lesson. For any newbie taking a jumping into datnoid, I suggest you have your tank cycle and don't feed the first day you get them. Wait at least 24 hours and keep the tank dark by covering it a towel. After 24 hours then you can see if it's appropriate to feed. This is what I used to do when acclimating discus and angelfish.
