I just got 7 of these guys today they are very small in the range of .75"-1.25"

I threw in some mysis shrimp with them and im not sure if the filter sucked most of it up or if they ate some cause they werent eating with the lights on so i turned them off.

What have you all fed yours at this size.

The mysis is a good idea. Spark their instincts with live brine and baby guppies. Load the live foods with hi-protein prepared foods and/or vitamins before feeding them out to the dats.

One of my silvers took frozen bloodworms right off the bat. The others were a little more picky and would only take baby guppys/danios at first. I started throwing in some bloodworms with the feeders and within the week they were all taking them. Now they eat pretty much whatever gets put in there.

Frozen bloodworms, mysis, and brine. They'll probably start taking the bloodworms first, then graduate to sucking in chunks of mysis, brine, and eventually krill.

I would be feeding BW and feeders.

Starting my 6 2in Dats on frozen bloodworms.. 2 of them will eat krill. I have frozen foods available at local pet shops, will try mysis and Brian shrimp. Got 2 4in Uarus in there with them and all are always hungry. 135g

I have 9 very small indo dats (they were about 1 cm when purchased and were very inexpensive). They are doing well in a 50gal quarantine tank and have grown to between 2-4 cm so far. However, they will only eat guppies, blackworms or brine shrimp. They wont touch frozen foods or insects (I feed a lot of mealworms and use other insects with my larger fish). Any tricks to get them to take other stuff?
I was hoping that having a group with some other fish that eat well (I have 12 small cloud archerfish living with them) might teach th em to take new food items but they occupy different water levels and ignore each other. Any suggestions appreciated.

I suggest trying a pellet food that will sink. I would stop feeding for a day or two and try the pellet's. Personally would stop feeding the live guppies.
