I just got my new bichir ID-ed. It turned out to be a 3" Delhezi and Im keeping it with a 2" Endlicheri. I was wondering, how long could I keep them together before one outgrows the other and would it be alright to start feeding them carnivore sinking pellets and blood worms? And is it normal for the endli to just stay comfortable somewhere and not give a fck whenever I put in food while the del immediately goes for the food? I dont think Ive ever seen the endli eat but I always put in just enough for the both of them and when I come back to check on them the food is already gone but he usually is on the same spot (near the pump away from the side of the tank where I put the food in). Is it just shy or just a chill kind of fish or is there something wrong? 'Cause the del is really really active while the endli rarely moves. Thanks! I am new to polypterus and found them really really really awesome! :D

IDK about the duration of them outgrowing each other.
Need other MFK-ers for help.
They would do just fine as long as the food is not too big to chew and they're eating. :)
IMO,the endli is either waiting when the lights are out or he's just not eating.
If he's not eating then it's normal cause when they're first introduced into the tank they're scared and are not used to the sudden change of surroundings.
My previous ornate didn't even bother whenever food is given for almost a month. So,no worries.
If he still doesn't care then do water changes more frequent than usual maybe like 2-3 days once to remove the smell of the food you last gave to them as to trigger their senses whenever new food is given.
BTW,they do have stress.
Hope this helps. :)

Thanks Ivan! I saw my endli eat last night. I gave them some bloodworms and boy did he like em! I also removed my 4" pleco from the tank cause others told me that they suck on their slime coats and ultimately kills bichirs. Here in the Philippines, its common knowledge that all tanks need a pleco. I dont know why but I think has something to do with them being named "janitor fish." haha. Well anyway, thanks again! Im trying to find an ornate here. I think going to get maybe two or if not, another endli would be great. :)
