I finally got to bring home my new twins!!! Baby Dojo Loaches. They are about 2 long and really small, but settled into my community 55 after a 2 hr drip, they had to adjust to well water, ph in town is 7.4, here it's 8.6, but they are happy as can be this morning. They gobbled down bloodworms, it's hilarious watching them fixate on one little bloodworm and chasing all over like it's the only one in the tank. My big one just follows them around with great curiosity, I love having baby fish! They're so darn cute and tiny, but already act so fishy!!! (Any way to sex them?)

So basically most of you know Arowana are my species of choice, but due to not being able to have one now, I have a pretty good community tank going now. I have the one full grown Dojo, but have never kept Dojo's, so if anyone is a resident expert, feel free to share your knowledge. Params zero's across the board last night, high ph due to glacial runoff/mtn. well water. (The lfs water I tested for kicks, ammonia was about 3.0 ppm!!! geez!) 80 deg F used Ketapang leaves to settle them in, they are very active and healthy, no fin nippers allowed in my tank! I assume that they are sensitive like Clowns to chemicals, etc., used 1/2 dose of melafix after removing charcoal since they just came out of quarantine, were housed with sick Goldfish at the LFS. Idiots.

Peace out-a happy Mei :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

cool, I've been a dojo loach fan since I bought my leucistic one a couple years ago when I couldn't find any khuli loaches. I've read that when they mature they're more of a solitary species type of fish, but I guess with enough room and caves more can be kept in a community tank. And like Toehead, looking forward to the pictures :D

pix, please, Mei

Awesome Mei. Glad to see you're a loach lover too!

congrats, those are my favorite loaches.

how big is the full grown one??????????????? its a beast! on my dojos the golden ones stay out and play and the green ones stay hid out in the driftwood or plants 90% of the time
