hi guys i have been reading through this forum for a year now but this is my first post. i bought a baby endli 4 days ago, about 2.5" long, but tonight noticed that one of its feathery gills is missing. i am really concerned as i do not want to lose him. will it recover? any input would be very much appreciated.:(

First off hello and welcome to us,
don't worry theres no big health crisis. They are born with the external gills but as they grow the external are lost thru damage or reabsorbed into the body. They can however sometimes grow back. But they are not a necessity of life once the internal ill function and lungs take over oxygen absorbition-Anne

thank you for the reply. i can now sleep easy knowing that he will be okay cos i don't see many around and i want to raise him up to be like the monsters i have seen on the forum. once again thank you.

yea its normal they lose it by natural or dammage
