Tonight (the larger one I had to separate them, the other one still looks much the same, Hopefully he'll grow better now that he's not getting pushed around)

The larger one is starting to color up nicely. They are so peaceful looking when young.
They are very deceiving at that size. They are great fish and they will continually reward you with more beauty with age. I miss mine some times. Congrats.

Yeah, I'm really excited to see them develop, the bigger one turned red almost over night. Thank you (:

NICE! congrats on such a beautiful festae fry. and yeah they really do seem to color up over night, i was growing mine out in a 20g long and they grew super slow despite my doing water changes all the time, but once i put the remaining one into the large tank he had a major growth spurt and once he was big enough to turn red it was like overnight like you say and he seemed to get more red everyday during his growth spurt (although he still grew super slow because he was the lowest fish on the totem pole, only got to about 3in in a year:irked: though he was gorgeous lol), wish i would have kept him but yeah these guys are definitely not angels at any age, they may look nice but they are evil straight from the egg, they seriously have a highlander mentality when it comes to their siblings, i started out with about 20-30 <.5in fry and ended up with just the dominant one that pick on all the others one by one until they stressed and bloated and this tank is 30in long and was planted and had plenty of caves so no issue with space and this little tiny fish is already killing others lol
