:nilly: I was given a baby horseshoe crab today. He is about an inch long. i put him in my 5 gallon quarantine tank, unfortunately i didnt think about the hermits in my tank and they went after him before he could really burrow in the sand. I put him in my main tank so that he could easily burrow without being attacked.

What should i offer him as far as food goes? He is only about an inch long and he has sharp spikes on his body. I read to try shrimp and scallops and everything, but should i worry about my moon snails or my hermits eating him? the only pets i have in the tank are my baby snowflake eel, some striped legged hermit crabs from the beach 2 1/3 inch long blue crabs, some pom pom xenia, and like 7 moon snails. should i be worried about any of them harming him?

ok i was just told that until they are about 3 inches long they could stay in my 29 gallon. i plan on upgrading to a 55 at the end of the month and if/when he gets too big, i plan to give him to the aquarium of the americas in new orleans.

blue crabs like the blue hermits or blue crabs like the food crabs?
i wouldn't worry about blue hermits and the snails but the striped hermit may prove imposing on a small horseshoe.

yes they are blue crabs as in eating blue crabs lol a friend of mines tank went suicidal and she asked if id take them seeing as she had only had them for a few days. i took them in.
