wondering if this is a good idea. have some small dats, and maybe might throw in a small jardini to grow out. they're in a 30 gal.

reason i'm asking is because i had a small colony of clown loaches in with the dat, but they all mysterious died, one after one...(the loaches)..

so wondering also if the jardin will be too agressive with the dats.

It might be possible depending on how aggressive the jardini is. This arrangement will only last a few months if your dats are close to the same size the jardini is. The jardini will quickly outgrow your dats and then the fun will start. With jardini, you can never know how aggressive they will be until you try it out.

i have had a 2" jar grow to 6" with my it dats that have gone from 1" to 3"+ in the same tank and time frame...no problems...i got rid of the jar cause it killed some payaras in the same tank...it is a 55gal

well the jardin would be fry size. a lfs might still have some in my area. i was also thinking that the jardini will grow lot faster than the dats. as long as the jardini wont fit in my oscars mouth, then i can transfer it to the larger tank.

but generally i have heard that jardini's can get aggressive. my main tank the fish are used to having silvers, but i don't have experience having the jardinis yet.

Silver or jar, both keeping method is the same.

I won't advise small dat with small jar for aro tend to grow much faster than dat and dat get stressed easily.

Btw, your avatar are my crossback pictures?:D
