I have a 4" Jardini that is currently growing out in a 40 gallon which contains 2 rocket gars at 5-6", a 1.5'+ ropefish,a 6" senegal, a 5" chinese hi fin, and a 4" pleco. The Jardini has been fine for 2 months, but this last week he is being aggressive to the rocket gars. As of now only one has any sign of injury and that is a miniscule cut on its anal fin, hardly noticeable. What puzzles me is that although the Jardini is more aggressive and the rocket gars show no signs of fighting back, he has multiple small cuts on his tail. Any ideas on who might be attacking the Jardini and how to fix it? Not sure I can do another tank for just the Jardini, but is this what is necessary?

It's an early sign that your Jar will be an aggressive one. When fish get attacked, they may on occasion fight back. The Gars probably retaliated after being attacked by the Jar. Take this as a warning, either decide whether you want to keep the Jardini and keep it in a tank of its own, or think about getting rid of it.

Interesting to know this behavior of Jars... I am experiencing my 4" jar disturb my sens nothing violent but just a this whole tank belongs to me kinda behavior...

Yes I don't think he will be very violent in his next grow-out... a 125 with a 12" florida gar, a 10" chalceus, a 8" Golden Tinfoil Barb, a 8" Silver Flagtail, and a big plec, 1.5' fire eel, and a fat 6" Liosomadoras morrowi. And a 5" bluegill...

You would be surprised. Jardini's aren't considered one of the most aggressive Arowana's out there for no reason. He will get more violent with age. Many Jardini keepers can attest that they do get more aggressive as they age. Your fish in the 125 with simply be punching bags for your Jar as it gets larger.
