Apparently, my Jar died 2 hours ago when I woke up from my nap this evening. I really don't know the reason why and I'm wondering where I'm at fault.
Now, before I took a nap, the jar seems normal and is swimming from the bottom of the tank (which is pretty normal to newly introduced arowanas) to the top (which is normal when they settled) and still as skittish as normal juvs. However I noticed some parts of the mealworm that he ate this morning at the bottom of the tank, but I don't know if he is sick or not because he really looks normal and he still ate another. Now upon seeing him, he was already at the side of the overhead filter, cold dead, but his head is not beside the suction part of the filter, and he even swims near it or beside but doesn't get sucked so I pretty much assume that the suctioning part of the filter is strong enough to hold him and is out of the question. Upon checking his body to see if there are problems with his stomach, there are no redness or whatsoever and not even skin disease and no symptoms of any diseases of Arowana before his death.
Given these, I have another suspect however that may have caused his death and that is the insecticide which was applied in the house this morning which is approximately 8 hours ago before he died. I don't know if some of the chemicals got into the tank, and I wasn't able to observed how the person who applied it did the job. But given that, will there be any symptoms if an insecticide chemical enough to kill the fish got into the tank? and if there is/are, will you have noticed it earlier or the fish will suddenly collapse?
I really don't know how the fish died given these explanations so I don't know if I got mistaken on something, or is it the fault of the person who applied the insecticide because I'll be sure to ask for damages if it is....
