recently bought a baby jardini, just lost its egg sac, i put in pellets but it just takes it n spits it back out, will it accept freeze dried bloodworms? the fish store guy told me hes been feedin it feeders n frozen bloodworms. i want to use live bloodworms but the bloodworms will sink, will frozen bloodworms float? other suggestions for food? 1.5"

I would use frozen bloodworm. I grew out my Jardini from 2" to 20" starting with the frozen bloodworms

Frozen blood worms will float until the water defrost Them. Although it is best to serve them thawed. Your arow should accept them. good luck.

Bud, frozen or live it'll eat it. Give it a day or two, if you just got him, before feeding. It'll be fine, stay away from pellets for now. Congrats, it'll be a big boy or girl in no time!!!

For now go for the frozen ones and once the baby grows and is more active then change to pellets.

I got a 3" juvie jar just yesterday. The LFS was feeding it frozen bloodworms, but I got it to eat freeze dried (they float too) ones a couple of hours after putting into its new home.

Today I tried freeze dried shrimps and it gobbled those up as well. I had to coax it a bit by dropping the shrimps right into the path of the filter return so the shrimps would partially sink into the water column only to float back up. This is when the jar would shoot out from it's corner to grab it before the shrimp reaches the surface. Very cool to see!
