Almost forgot to do this one! I know everyone's probably tired of grow outs, but I kind of think this is good to keep up for the new guys getting into cichla. I know other member's grow out threads have helped me learn a lot about raising cichla from very small so I just want to contribute my two cents even if people out there have seen their fill of these. Anyhow, I got 5 kelberi bahia last week from a local importer I met. These guys were tiny, a bit smaller than my orinos I got last month, about an inch to 1.25. They are super skittish and rarely stop for me to get a decent pic. I got them on bloodworms and brine shrimp for now, hoping they will mellow out enough to pellet train in a few weeks or so. Temp is at 89-90 degrees in my 20g long. I've been doing 25% water changes twice a week so far to keep the water quality up, very important for young pbass. For filtration I'm running an Aquaclear AC-50 for bio/mech and a big sponge filter for added biological filtration. Check out the last pic of a baby kelberi hiding in the plants.
