Ok after I did about a 40% water change I noticed one of the baby Leich's was swimming funny. It looks like its back is a little kinked and swimming a little funny. Its in a 20gal tall with another baby Leich, they are divided. I moved him to the other side with out the return on the HOB so their would be less current and added aquarium salt. I moved the normal Leich to the side with the return of the HOB. I have the lights off as well in the tank. Any suggestions on what else I should do? Do you think he will recover from the kink in his back. They are both about 2.5-3 inches.

ooh a couple years ago i had a silver with a "kinked" back as well, he would swim with his head up but tail down, after a few months and he got a couple inches bigger he started swimming regularly. He should grow out of it unless its something really severe like an injury or something. Good luck

Also how is there aggression? they trying to fight through the divider? Well good luck with your plan.

Thanks deR. When I got him about a week and a half ago he was perfectly fine, hopefully this is just a temporary situation. Every once in a while they might meet at the divider and try to get at each other.

I think my Leich is fine now, the kinky looks to be gone, he is eating greedily again, and appears to be swimming fine again.

Any one think 82-81 degrees too warm for them?

if anything i wouldnt worry about the temperature, id worry about the gallonage of tha tank.

too warm? lol im keeping mine at 86, feeding it small meals every 4 hours.

Ok that is good. I wish I was home to feed them that often, I am only able to do it 3 times a day. On the weekends I do about 4 times a day.

Not a problem. I like keeping new small aros in this tank because getting them to eat the food I want them too is easier, small surface area, as well as I do 2-3 water changes a week, 1x50% and 1or2 20%-25%. They have other tanks they can transition into, possibly a 40gal breeer after this, a 75gal, 180gal, and I'm looking to replace my 135 with a 240gal, and in about 2 years replace my 300gal with a +600gal tank.
